This position is seasonal and starts immediately. Must have knowledge of regional agronomic practices and ability to schedule and prioritize field activities for a successful growing season. Daily activities will include: Ground-prep, planting, field-scouting, spraying, irrigation, weeding, sampling, rogueing, agronomic note-taking. Must be able to withstand outdoor field-activities for the majority of their responsibilities. While the majority of this role will be field-based, assistance in warehouse/processing activities will be necessary during peak periods. Contractor will be required to operate field equipment, as well as operate under DOT standards for vehicles 10,001 lbs. to 26,000 lbs. There may be opportunities to travel and assist other sites with planting/harvest activities. Must be able to lift weights over 40lbs., be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, handle repetitive job tasks, and have the ability to perform tasks at waist level and below (bending over). Will drive company vehicle to bring materials and equipment to and from work sites/fields. Will operate farming equipment such as a sprayer or thresher. Will assist in the maintenance and improvement of the farms and assets. Provide support for the safety program by adhering to all safety policies and attendance at regular company sponsored safety meetings. Assist by carrying out other duties as assigned. Must be able to read and write, to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English and to perform assigned tasks accurately. Outdoor conditions cannot be controlled and therefore the worker will be exposed to uneven walking/working surfaces, mud, insects, heat and cold extremes, and the sun. Resume required.
